MTNL Mumbai has introduced new broadband plans for 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, and 16 Mbps.

Link.

Now: All the above plans do not mention LINE BONDING CPE for distance above 1 Km. So has MTNL changed anything so as to enable them to give higher speeds without any issues. Can anyone shed some clarity on to it.

If LINE BONDING is not required then I did very well opt for 10 Mbps BB-1500-10M plan. Currently on defunct Xpress UL 1375 plan 2 Mbps.

wow they have kind of reduced plan so no more 1mbps post fup speed for plan below 1000Rs.

hear so much about Digital India steps being taken to spread/improve broadband connectivity in the country but I now see mtnl’s new Triband plans, it comes as a huge shocker & disappointment. I never expected this from them. I guess at the end of the day there is no diff between pvt & psu ISP’s. Everything is a jumla. The moment I am forced to shift from my current plan I will shift to a pvt ISP & then the need to maintain landline in the hse becomes defunct. So it will be goodbye to a over 40 yr connection. Luks likeMTNL mumbai is now toeing the line of a pvt isp which wanted 512 as min speed after FUP. In 2005 this company was a trend setter but now alas is only a follower. Its insane for anyone to pay 1500/- fr a 2Mbps plan when the competition gives fr 799/- 50Mbps, 15GB limit & 1Mbps post FUP

MTNL has regressed. Right now my VDSL 2049 (10 Mbps up to 90 GB) and 1.5 Mbps post FUP limit is the best value for money.

i can't change to these new plans through selfceare online cause it gives some combo to combo api error, i called 1500 & they say go to exchange for plan change so mtlnl :-/

@insane79
I managed to get my office plan changed to DSL 16 Mbps Rs. 1500. Today, I registered for plan change from self care website at 10 am and they changed the plan at 12pm and I even got a confirmation SMS. Fastest turnaround time.

My line stats now:

But download speed is not going above 15 Mbps. I had called up the server guy and they are still testing stability and sync.

At home I am still keeping it on VDSL 10 Mbps.

wow thats nice, i m getting "ERROR(CALLING COMBO TO COMBO API) PLAN ALREADY EXIST"
when trying to change from 8mbps combo 2599 plan to 10mbps BB2500 plan.
i haven't tried DSl 16mbps as its only 50gb fup right?

Thanks.

this is really bad from mtnl, first I was living with atleast 9-10 disconnections and reboots per day and now then change post FUP limits from 1mbps to 512kbps.. This is the worst move ever. Hope my plan won't be changed forcefully. But they have removed the notice which is seen in image posted above by socrates. Hope they don't change my previous plan.

I managed to get my sync rates up

These line stats are pure madness. I stay more than 1 km away from Prabhadevi tel exchange.

This is literally pushing line and ADSL modem to their limits. Cannot get more idiotic than this.

Speedtest is good now. 16 Mbps steady after initial burst of 20 Mbps. TP-Link TD-8816 is one heck of a modem! Best ever.

have moved away from mtnl today, fed up of this 512kbps upload speed, its for digital india & not for me i guess ;-)
was nice having mtnl all these year but now time to say farewell to all the aunties of 1500 & this section of the forums.
Thanks for all the help guys..
