Excitel Broadband Reviews

Hmmm... to sum it up I am not happy with Ynetworks....

Downtimes...... few minutes: many times a week..... in last one month: once for 5-6 hours....

CC is accessible but despite problem are not fully solved....

LCO..... is nearby but with zero technical knowledge.....

Reg. speed, many times I have noticed speed even going down to 1Mbps which is resolved sometimes and sometimes not....

Peering I feel sometimes only I get only upto 16Mbps.... most of the time it is not there....

Overall they are not delivering what they promised....

But as of now I have to choose bad among the worst...

And top of it, everyday we get to know something more exciting coming up..... like

"""Siticable Broadband now offering 50Mbps@899 unlimited"""
http://www.siticable.com/BroadbandPackagesSelection.aspx

So very confused right now, some times feeling cheated but definitely better than MTNL....

Hi Bulletstorm.....

How far are you from your LCO....
What are the downtimes and frequency.....
Are they giving peering speeds as promised....
also feedback about CC..... do they pick up phone.... and do they resolve issue and revert back....
and feedback about LCO... do they resolve the issues...
TIA
Inderjit

His main office is not so far from my house and his secondary office is in my neighbour building i.e both buildings r attached.

Today i complete my 1 month with excitel.
For first 10 day there was no downtime at all.....then for next 12 days downtime was 3hours for everyday basically B/W 3-6pm and during those 12 days my speed was 4Mbps/20Mbps. i complaint it through MY EXCITEL APP & cc respond that they were testing lane & when its going to fix they don't have any idea about that [ response was instant on app in 10 min i got my all answers] i don't like there No idea attitude but but still better than glorious 256kpbs king MTNL.
But Luckily after very next day speed fix to 5Mbps/20Mbps.
and after that day Random downtime for 45-60min in ever 2-3 days which is acceptable.

Yes peering speed is stable for whole month but today i got my 2 day grace period and peering speed is 5Mbps
so don't know is it bcz of grace period or backhand problem.[edit :it was bcz of grace period]
& he call me for confirm my subscription renewal either i want to renew or not.

I didn't contact CC through phone...so i can't feedback on it but this thread give a clear idea that contacting CC is not easy task.
but my LCO told me i need to complaint him & he will forward issue.

My LCO is good in behaviour & serious in Internet business Bcz before excitel he was contracted with pacenet and only few peoples subscribe his net.
But after excitel contract, number of subscriber inc. with a rocket speed.
He is Cable MAFIA of my area so cable cutting & all that shit will not going to happen.
i can't face any major issue with net so don't know about issue resolving speed but yeah i opt local cable also and i have his main Boss ph num :p sometime in worst condition i call LCO boss & he solved my problem.
SO i think iam on safe side.

Basically Excitel service is totally depend upon Local Cable Operator.

Overall Iam happy with Excitel as speed always remain stable but in rainy season packet loss is normal. I migrate from MTNL to Excitel.

As In my area only 3 ISPs are availble MTNL, airtel & new Excitel.

I will not recommend Excitel for them who are playing multiplayer games. high packet loss & high ping .
Update: They spread like pollution in all over in delhi and service is drastically degraded. like they add more and more area without upgrading infrastructure.
Highly unstable ...poor speed in peak hour ....speed throttling after crossing 80gb.
stay away from this shit

Not sure what's about the colony on other side of road i.e mine both act and Exitel are avail. on the other side :\ and I am stuck on expensive Mtnl :\

Can you please tell willi need to buy a router or lco will give me and take rental. Also is there any major downtime.

@pranav sharma you need to purchase your own Router.
UPDATE: Yes last week i faced speed fluctuation and frequent disconnection.

So i create a case through Excitel app...They close it by provide default answer then i reopen it they close it again while wrote YOUR SPEED ISSUE IS SOLVED BY OUR LCO........then i reopen it & finally they contact me through phone after some command & change LAN adapter setting speed remain same.
so he create a new case and closed self created case.
that case remain open for 3days then it solved as its backhand problem from Excitel[took 5days to solve problem]

But when i asked him,Is the problem will short out from excitel side or my lco side, he said LCO side.
so all in alll everything even small problem willl short out by lco.
Anyhow that speed fluctuation was backhand problem from Excitel because they are upgrading system and now they increase non peering speed with small hike in plans.

@opomiyulen Bro did you face night time downtime in July?
Downtimes there were many, 4 to 5 day complete shutdown in entire month, may be due to rains. As you said it depends on LCO that is very true, Line problems only LCO can fix and its his duty to fix that as soon as possible. It's very rare that internet is down from Excitel end, most of the time problem is with local end. In my case my LCO have few other ISP's like Nextra etc. to maintain so obviously rectifying any problem takes time. I just wish he just maintain Excitel Network only like yours LCO @Bulletstorm or Excitel deploys one or two its own staff in every area to maintain network related things.

I am on excitel's ₹ 1159 plan. My non-peering speed has been increased from 10 mbps to 15 mbps. Does anyone else experienced the same increase in speeds ?
