Okay, got a reply from Airtel. Unfortunately, they deny that the plans on the flyer I posted a few days back exist. Instead they insist that fiber connections only have three plans, Rs999 - 20mbps - 30GB data, Rs1299 - 40mbps - 60GB and Rs1599 - 40mbps - 100GB. The good thing is that the post FUP speed is 1mbps for the 40mbps plans.

@Vandhana, can you let us know what plan you are currently using?

Having 1299.
Also IIRC 999 - 40G without free local calls & 20 MBPS

Though not Chennai, my connection is Gurgaon based, I am on Rapid 1799 with 40Mbps and 150GB data, below is a screenshot of the speed I get on my FTTH connection

Upload speed is less than 2 Mpbs for 16 Mpbs download plan

Airtel confirmed that the speed will be less than 15% of the download speed. So, it might impact the quality of VOIP calls or online games.

Really? 2Mbps on FTTH or ADSL/VDSL? When I was on 16Mbps before the 40Mbps upgrade my upload was 10Mbps, I do remember a member on here from Bangalore who got 16Mbps upload on his 16Mbps FTTH connection.

When I asked then what is the "official" upload speed for their FTTH connections, they just gave me the usual 1/8th of download like it is for ADSL, which it clearly is not. Since they only officially quote the download speeds, they can pretty much setup your line with anything >1/8th upload. My case is has been more like 50% of the download.

Thanks for the reply. Negotiating hard with Airtel for better upload speed and it seems they will do it,
