@Deep Saha Thank you. It might be the case. I started the uploads at around evening time to my Google drive yesterday. And it slowed down around 9-10 PM which I thought was some network problem at first. But then it again worked with normal speeds after 11 PM or 11:20 PM or so when I tried. Then it lasted to around 1 or 1:20 AM and went slow again when I realized the FUP thing. I very well doubt that I have exhausted 8 GB yesterday (4 GB before 11 and 4GB after 11) but it might be a remote possibility as I was also uploading them to Microsoft Skydrive for a second backup for safety. I still doubt that they are reducing the speeds after only 2-3 GB.

I made a huge mistake. I had to upload these files for a long time and I should not have waited till this month. It would have been headache-free without FUP if I had uploaded them last month itself. Anyways, I would need to wait till 11 PM today night I suppose. I still have around 3.2 GB upload left. So, I suppose I would need to end my quota for tomorrow too.

BTW my BSNL (which I have still kept for backup) is a lot more headache free to be honest but the problem is that the lines are crappy and there is still heavy noise and unstable connection which makes upload almost impossible. I tried when the BSNL lines became stable for some time earlier today and it was surprising to notice that the upload speeds were not that bad in BSNL considering it is only a basic 1 Mbps connection compared to the super fast speeds of Jio. For uploading to Google drive, Jio upload speeds were relatively very slow compared to the speedtest speeds. BSNL upload speeds (when the line becomes stable in between) is much smooth and near the speedtest speeds.

If you have BSNL then why don't you opt for that 250 or something plan 2mbps unlimited without FUP ...It's an excellent plan.

I was thinking of taking my broadband line from next month then again I figured if I spend Rs1000 for 2mbps unlimited in SpeedNet / Siti Broadband, So why don't I take BSNL Unlimited 3G at Rs 1100.

I will take a BSNL Sim to and will check 3G speeds if its well and good then will use BSNL 3G rather than using broadband as at least will get 3mbps in BSNL 3G and its portable and I have a 3G/4G dongle so it will be a better plan for me. Provided if BSNL is good here as BSNL speed and stability sucks in all areas...

I think it is not Fair to cap speed to 128Kbps in JIO is good where min speed is 512 kbps in broadband , JIO should have provided at least 1mbps post 4GB FUP , else it's no use , browsing is too slow also how can they expect to watch HD JIO TV , JIO Cinema , JIO Music with this kind of FUP as those will only consume the 4GB data in matters for hours and that too have to use all in that 4GB i.e surfing , youtube etc..

And they are promoting JIO Cinema and JIO TV in mails saying new movies added and more channels added..

I am an existing customer for 8 years and cannot go for those 250 plan as they are only for new customers. I have had plans up to Rs.3400 (after service charge) in BSNL. The problem is not the plan and I am very happy with their current plans (especially the ones launched in the last few weeks and also their post-FUP speed change).

I will remain with BSNL in the long term. The main problem with BSNL is the terrible internet connection, pathetic lines, and customer service. I am still looking at my modem router right now and the DSL lights almost never become stable. The phone is either super noisy or dead intermittently. I would definitely move to their 1200+taxes plan in the coming months and I might go for some higher plan too if they introduce 4Mbps pure unlimited for around Rs.2000 like the 2 Mbps one. However, the main issue is their lines which are terrible and unstable. At the end of the day, I need to get a stable internet irrespective of the plan and it becomes a very big problem in case of BSNL. I have given a fresh complaint even today and the lineman called up but I am not sure when it would be fixed and for how many hours the lines would be stable. At times, the lines become noisy only after an hour or two of them so called getting fixed. And the lineman would ask for a bribe every time he fixes the line. So, the bills keep on adding up too as you call him more and more. At times, a few of the BSNL lineman (mostly when several come) say that Rs.100-200 is too less and they should be paid Rs.500 or so per line fixing. If BSNL fixes its employees and line quality, they would have extremely favourable reviews all over the country.

The FUP is calculated this way.

I got a message on 6th September at 6:29 pm (18:29) that your plan has been migrated to Jio Shitcome Offer. So now my phone's cycle starts from 6:29 pm. That night, I tested it and downloaded 4 GB and was capped by 8pm. The speeds returned to normal at 6:30 pm next day.

So your cycle depends on the time the Jio Shitcome plan was applied to your account.

2am-5am Night Unlimited did not work for me as I tried it yesterday. Just 160 Mb was downloaded the whole night (2-5 period)

@d5aqoëp I received that message on September 7th at 2:37 PM. So, do you mean that my FUP would be reset in the next 15 minutes as it is 2:22 PM now?

I also suppose that the night unlimited does not work. As mentioned, the FUP speed got applied at about 1 or 1:20 in the night. I did not realize that it was the FUP and kept on trying different things like restarting the phone, selecting the network etc. again and again till around 3 A.M. after which I slept. So, if the night unlimited would have worked, then the upload speed should have been back to normal at 2:00 AM in the night. But that did not happen for sure as I was even restarting the phone and trying all sorts of things as the Google drive uploads were very important and urgent. It means that the night unlimited is perhaps not working at all. I only thought about this night unlimited thing after you mentioned it but I now realize that it definitely does not work. So, it is not beneficial to count on the night unlimited quota in the Jio network anymore it seems.

NOTE: Can anybody create a separate thread mentioning if the night unlimited is working for anyone? It seems that it is not working. People can test it out and report back in the welcome offer period as I suppose that was one of their biggest USPs while launching the plans.
