On another note, the GAMES app is not working for me. It just shows me a green background but doesn't load anything. Anyone else having the same issue ?

Has anyone succeeded in connecting their external drive to STB and streaming media through it ? When I connected mine, it did not show anything in the photos app and now my drive is not connecting to my laptop either.

@Dhiraj - I connected my pendrive to the 3.0 port and it detects.
1. It showed all the files and played all formats - mkv, mp4. It also supports HEVC encoded files too.
2. It doesn't support high bitrate files, I tried playing a 7GB video file and it just loads. Also noticed while playing the media I can see the data streaming and being played parallelly. Also if the STB has no access to internet then media playback isn't possible on STB. So it's kind of like Plex where it uploads data to remote server and then streams the data, have to test it out more.
3. Also when you eject, add more files to the usb, the STB doesn't detect the new files unless you restart the STB.

Keep it on And connected to the internet , and give it time to do the updates. When I installed mine , no apps were there but it installed some updates and all apps got installed automatically.

Got the set top box installed today. It is similar to the one which @Dhiraj has (with a port for cable connection).
Running version 9 with a security patch of August 2018.
I tried connecting my hathway cable wire to the set top box cable port and then clicking on Jio TV. It showed a signal quality of 80% but did not detect any channels.
Now,
Since nobody here seems to have given information about what all is included with the bronze plan, let me do the honours.
The STB includes YouTube, all Jio apps (including Jio TV Plus) and a free version of the OTT apps.
By free version I mean only that content which is freely available (without any subscription) can be played.
For Hotstar: I could play all live channels (including sports) and all movies which don't come under the VIP or Premium subscription.
For Sony Liv: All live channels need a Premium subscription so those could not be played.
For Voot : There is nothing called a subscription in Voot so basically everything is available.
Good thing that I found was that if you already have a Hotstar or a Sony Liv subscription, you can sign in with that account and watch the Premium content.

In short:
Bronze plan includes YouTube, all content from Jio apps and free content from OTT apps.

I hope that I have made everything about the bronze plan clear.
