Anybody on Excitel in Bangalore? I submitted interest on their site and they called up earlier today and said there is service in my area from last one week or so. Pricing is same as that on the website, if you pay for 3 months, you get the 300 Mbps plan for approx Rs 750 per month which is decent. I think there is also the 6+3 offer going on which makes it really cheap (but not sure I'm ready to pay 6 months upfront without any user feedback from the area/city)

No installation charges, Rs 750 security deposit for ONT or Rs 2000 if you need a wireless router from them as well.

I understand from users from other areas that, you are behind NAT, they at times hijack DNS etc but all those don't really affect me much as there are workarounds. If no one is on Excitel Bangalore yet, I am even ready to take the connection for academic purposes. 😜

nice. here i am paying their ethernet pricing coz no idea when excitel's version of fiber would arrive. lco seems disinterested.

Okay, so apparently the 6+3 offer is not applicable as per the Excitel person. I've asked him to come tomorrow, I might go for the 100 Mbps, 3 months plan for now.

yeah, i have a feeling that offer is on paper only. also yeah... 100mbps on excitel is pretty solid. especially on their peered services.

I was offered 6+9 offer but opted for 3+1 instead.
So nothing like on paper offer though only for new customers.

6+3 for 4000/- and 3+1 for 2000/- is the plan before 1st march for new subscribers. Though it's only for 100mbps connections. May be the excitel person told you so because you asked for 200/300 ones.

Excitel should expand to Chennai.
We'll get better prices from the local players here.
Though we have international Internet Gateways here, the prices are not that attractive.
