Has BSNL stopped charging rent for ONT?

I have BSNL FTTH taken directly from BSNL. I have taken TYPE A ONT on rent. But in the bill they dont charge rent for the ONT. In the bill its written like this
"Plan FTTH-FREE-NON-WIFI-ONT-TYPE-A". Anybody has any idea?

My bill comes 990Rs for 50 Mbps plan 600 Gb data

Sorry but it never showed any result for these models and even google search for these shows nothing in India.

It isn't really easily available or they are not really interested in selling in bulk as of now, if you just want to go for the brand name and buy overpriced all in one devices, sure.

Their GPON basic ONT seems priced alright although around 1k would have been more ideal -- Amazon.in: Buy TP-Link 1-Port Gigabit GPON Terminal TX-6610 Online at Low Prices in India | TP-Link Reviews & Ratings but it is GPON only, so do check if you are on GPON or EPON. Most chinese ONTs support dual mode.

Anyway I'd still recommend getting a basic ONT (say Huawei or Netlink or whatever) and then get a decent wireless router separately.

@varkey I was doing research into optical modules. Workmanship does matter. From my experience TP-Link has good workmanship, I suggested the brand due to quality reasons.

But yes, it's better to buy their basic ONT.

I don't have the instrument with me right now and my router model is TP-Link TL-WR841N 300Mbps Wireless N Router

If we can configure SIP with this setup then it will be great otherwise please suggest if its budget-friendly to buy basic ONT then advanced router for SIP calls? Or Telephone port ONT + Instrument + buy an advanced router.

In both cases, the TP-link router will go useless?

It's high time TP-Link or D-Link release these All In one products for mass market. With a reasonable price.
