Initially, only high-end laptops would be launched. Then mid-range laptops, then budget and cheap laptops. There are certain performance issues with AMP laptops at the moment. I heard that AMD addressed those issues in 4000 series. Fingers crossed.
@anant.del you could get 512gb ssd +8gb ram(upgradable} on i5 8th gen. But as u said it might bit difficult on 40k price range. Might need atleast 50k. But at that price (50k+)almost all new laptop providers are providing ssd these days.
Yeh it's best to stretch it upto 50k if you can or wait until you can. Nowdays laptop batteries do last a longer time compared to older lap which lasts just for few couple hours. So buy a better one for 50k rather than buy one cheap older model for 40k. And replace it later down after 2 yrs.
Peak performance expected from a particular CPU model. I don't have the links where I read it. It was at least a couple of months ago when I was actively searching for laptops.
Amd had some problems when they introduced their 3000series chipset most of them weren't optimized.
The whole amd lineup is like that tbh - they first introduce the hardware and basic software to run it. It takes months of optimization for amd products to turn better, we have seen this throughout thier cpu and graphic processors. Lot of people bricked thier hardware (like Vega 56/64 had shit tons of problems) during software update.
But still amd products are better nowdays compared to their counterpart Intel who had multiple security issues like (spectre, meltdown etc) lot of small security issues where not patched up since it would cut down the processing speed drastically.
Amd had their own security issues not downplaying with that. But their architecture built was superior especially during past couple years.
I do agree with you on that article where amd might have had some problems but generally speaking they have been doing well as of now.
@vignesh_venkatesan they had boost clock issues in their 3000 series non - mobile series too.
It was big fiasco when it was released. It was fixed for 90 % people after few updates down the line.
Didn't know the mobile cpu was drastically effected too.
Bro I am AMD fan boy.
But I have seen and faced multiple issues with the platform.
My friend got the first gen threadripper it was like a car with 1000hp engine but no proper transmission or brakes.
But slowly the platform has matured well and then I built my Ryzen machine.
I have an Ryzen 7 3700x coupled with 2060 super from MSI.
