This could be the year of Mediatek.

Hope they price it aggressively. Else it's pointless if beyond the reach of the masses.

More so it will be important how the software utilises the processor. Xiaomi and her siblings are a best example. The best Miui and optimisations for a dedicated hardware is found in Xiaomi phones, a little but useless updates in Redmi phones, the worst of Miui is in Poco devices. Unless developers tune their OS, Roms for the hardware, having any good processor or hardware is futile.

Nevertheless, a good USP for such brands!! India is a spec-driven country. Joh dikta hai woh bikta hai!!

It would be pointless to decide how a processor performs seeing benchmarks alone. Real time experience also matters. But if they have improved genuinely then all the better for consumers as it could make Qualcomm rethink on their pricing and royalties.

Looks like if you need a device with a premium and latest SOC, 8Gen 1 is not an option.

Dimensity 1200, 9000 seems to be the way to go.. and if you are not into Mediatek, iPhone seems to be the only option.

Saying this only from benchmarks and performance perspective. Otherwise SD 878/888 are still excellent.

It’s funny whenever I see Genshin Impact mentioned in real world benchmarks, there is so little usage for having a very fast SoC on a mobile compared to a fast one that they have to keep resorting to Genshin Impact for it. 95+% people wouldn’t even notice differences in the real world between any of the flagship chipsets from the last 3 years.

Apple has already decoupled their mobile and non mobile chipsets in terms of a series vs m series but Snapdragon look like they will be left behind in all departments
