Airtel Broadband with Static IP gives unlimited bandwidth at full speeds?

well i was comparing it to cable internet. also mtnl in Mumbai gives 2mbps upload adsl2+ tech so still hope is there.
you can also try changing dns to Google one. it works better for surfing imo

When I wanted to go for a static IP for my Airtel broadband, the visiting engineer told me no FUP can be applied on a static IP as in order to throttle down the surfing/download/upload speed Airtel changes the connection IP which is not applicable for static IP. It costs me Rs 450 a month plus taxes for the static IP and I pay Rs 2499 plus taxes for my plan which gives me 8 mbps with 200 GB and unlimited further with 512 kbps and unlimited free STD and local calls on my landline. I am an internet addict and I get a sense of suffocation when it comes to FUP. I know that customer service will always tell you about FUP on all plans static or not.

Can anyone confirm if their speed has recently been reduced despite of a static IP on exceeding FUP limit?
Please do not quote what customer service tells you.

I think it depends on particular customer. Its up to Airtel to impose FUP limits. They can impose/exempt FUP on any Static IP.

@invader had his speed throttled on Static IP but it was restored back. I don't know about his current situation.

When I sign in to my Airtel account to check the current usage I still see 0 GB consumed despite doing almost 25 GB of downloads. I am not sure if I should keep the static IP as I do not have any other use for it. So I need to confirm if I have to go for smartbytes even on static IP.

Your usage is not metered so your IP is exempted from FUP. Did you get Static IP through retention process?

By the way, i don't understand why you took Static IP on 200 GB plan? Isn't 200 GB sufficient for you?

Good to hear. I knew your problem was just a glitch. Don't worry about Smartbytes as long as your speed is good.

Nope. I always want more...
And I did not get static IP from through retention. I had plans for a home business that required static IP but later I dropped the plans.

ordered static ip for rs 150 seems data is reducing on my rapid 1399 plan in gurgaon.Will see what happens after fup.
