At present I have D2H Set top box V7000. This was made available when it was Videocon D2H. Now it’s sort of Dish TV D2H merger.
My existing box had recording capabilities. But now D2H told that recording has been discontinued (even in their basic HD boxes that are now in market and old ones also) and I need to upgrade to Android box if I want recording. I am not very keen on that android stuff. I know Airtel HD box comes with recording facility. You have to pay additional monthly charges like Rs 30 / month and get it enabled. So I am considering switching to that.
I am looking for one very specific tech info. Does Airtel HD STB (without streaming one) also support 1080p? Every HD box supports 1080i default but not all support 1080p. i = interlaced p = progressive
I have seen TataPlay HD box (at my friends place) that does not have 1080p option. It only has 1080i. Airtel product page also shows 1080i.
CC have no idea and sadly the dealers around me said they only know what is written on the website. That’s okay because after all they are businessmen. All they know is buy n sell.
Does anyone have any idea if Airtel HD box supports 1080p? Some YT videos on installation show the setup screen where I see 1080p but I guess some of the older boxes are only 1080i.
