16mbs connection -- will I have to change my modem?

I am currently on home unlimited plan 1350 with wa3002g4 ads wifi modem. I am planning to try 16mbs 4999 plan next month. The Bsnl site lists the modem for the plan as vdsl wifi than adsl wifi, just wanted to know whether adsl wifi modem will be ok with the plan.Anybody using the plan, how's the experience?

YEAS YOU WILL HAVE TO CHANGE as the line is not DSL unless they convert it through a modem and then provide as ADSL.

I wonder why they are using VDSL for providing 16 Mbps when ADSL2+ can support upto 24 Mbps.
