Damn it, Jack! I'm liking this season.
But, this season also has some of the usual mistakes that 24 makes. In a 24-episode (24 hours) season, the writers had to introduce some boring sub-plots to maintain the real-time action. But, this is only a 12-episode season. We didn't need the mole-in-the-CIA subplot which is not adding anything to the main story.

so they are covering two hours in each episode? or he gets to sleep for 12 hours?

No. So far, it's been an hour per episode. We started at 11 a.m. and after 7 episodes, we're now at 6 p.m.
I suspect there will be a time jump later in the season. They are in London and it's quite possible they could travel to USA later. Either that or the season will end at 11 p.m.

True that!
I guess sub plot is put in to develop Kate Morgan's character, If season 10 is ordered. It would be interesting if Jack helps in CIA mole case, right now he has so much in his plate.
Also, the most irritating subplot in previous season was when Jack told his daughter to get out of city with his boyfriend due to bomb threat.

Me likey!
So they decided to integrate sub plot into main plot for last few episodes. this is a very good move to keep viewers hooked for new twists and turns.
Thinking about how this season is just for 12 hours timeline, president problem and now mole problem was fitted very carefully.

I'm not sure about ending the main story in 9 episodes and tying up loose ends in the last 3 episodes. It feels like an anti-climax.
This season has 12 episodes but the timeline is 24 hours and not 12 hours. The finale is titled: 10:00pm - 11:00am (13 hours).

Ah, now i understand how they are going to skip time. I was under the impression that they will skip timelines by hour..like one episode 6-7pm then jacks gets on flight and then 2 hour flight skipped then next episode of 9-10pm.
Doing a 10pm - 11 am makes more sense.
