Central Government ihas taken a tough stand to avoid terrorism in the country. Center has strictly ordered all the telecom operators to verify with their customers about their complete proofs to control terror activities in India as terrorists often used cell phones for carrying out their terror activities in our country. Following this order telecom operators are verifying with their customers for their complete proofs and around 30 lakh cellphone subscribers have been disconnected from their respective networks across the country as they have not provide their complete details. Telecom operators assured the Government that they will provide complete cooperation to Government in verification but they requested the government that their customers should not be harrased by the police. Some operators claimed that involvement of police in this matter is an obstacle in this verification. According to some operators, sometimes customers were being asked to come at police stations or inquiry. They have stated it as totally unnecessary. Telecom Operators also objected that some states are not following the guidelines issued by the department of telecom ( DoT) during subscriber verification.
