I don't think that iPhone's would need any software update to enable 5G.
Apple support page states that once 5G network is available, the phone will connect to it, and cellular data options will be shown.

I still believe a Carrier Update would be needed for iPhones 12 and up. That can be pushed by Airtel or Apple.

WTF I am reading on some websites that 5G on iPhones will be usable only from Dec 2022.

Isn't that false advertising on Apple's part to launch phones with 5G Ready tagline when they launched iPhone 12?

@pankaj I am reading conflicting reports where Apple will push 5G support to all compatible iPhones in December 2022.

It seems like Jio, Airtel and Apple were caught pants down when Modi pressed the big Red button to launch 5G services.

So I got 16.2 update on my iPhone 12 Mini.
But I don't see any 5G options in Mobile Network settings. Is it because VI Sim is inserted in that Phone?
