MTNL Delhi 8mbps Connection Problem

Snr is fine...i am more concerned about attenuation..... On downstream if you can go below 20 you will have a superb connection. 20 is still fine but i generally would try to see anything in range of 15-18....

Snr will depending upon speed levels but attenuation is the mesuarment of level of signal loss between dslam and your modem.

Doesn't line attenuation depend on distance from exchange? I guess i cant change that
Also after removing rust and taping the wire, HEC Down/Up errors have come down to 0/0 but i am still getting CRC Down/Up: 0/15 (gradually incrasing at 2db per 30-40mins)
What is CRC?

Yes right, one of the factor is distance too....but that seems to be fine. I am telling you the best case..as you stated its stable.......so iguess, you must be enjoying the MTNL network. Enjoy, ......
Crc errors happen when your linr has leaks and interference. But yours is not alarming right now...maje lo!
