Read carefully the offer:

DSL 748 ## and DSL 598##; these new plans offered from 01.05.2010 are NOT unlimited plans but have a monthly free download cap of 5.0 GB and 2.5 GB respectively with min/max download speed of 256 kbps/ 2 mbps only.

MTNL already has unlimited DSL 749 & unlimited DSL 599 plans in place. I don't know really what is the logic behind introducing these new (DSL 748 ## and DSL 598##) foolish plans having monthly download caps @ Rs. 1/- less.. :imbored:

I think everyone who has commented above is aware that these 'new' plans pertain to the Limited plans only. BTW I am using the DSL 599 now DSL 598 from 2005.

the DSL_598 and DSL_748 (formerly DSL_599 and DSL_749 ) LIMITED data plans are NOT NEW plans, and have been in existence for a long time. they simply have been renamed so as to differentiate them from the like-named Unlimited data plans ...for admin convenience & to avoid booking confusion.

Hmm yes that sounds like a logical explanation. But user of these plans have been waiting from last year in a hope of something better & this change has them pissed of.
