ration list would include basic calculations. even google docs can manage that. i am sure calc can handle them just as well

Hmm ok.. no probs..Will try once back home from office tomorrow. And I have LibreOffice (just to be technically correct).And.. I guess after seeing, we can debate on whether thats normal user or advanced user calculations. Also, myself/admin are saying MS-Office is the best for advanced users, its the basic/normal usage for which Libre/Open etc should be sufficient.

Hehe.. Dont worry about that, am not a bad guy and office is secured with corporate firewall and anti virus, so it will not let it go without cleaning.
