Air conditioner suggestion daikin or voltas

I am looking to buy a 1 ton AC and have shortlisted some models.

(4 star energy rating 2022 model) Daikin website shows 5 yr PCB warranty and 10 yr compressor. On croma I guess warranty listed is wrong for this AC. (I am not sure if warranty will be void incase I don't get maintenance done regularly by Daikin authorized centers)

(5 star rating 2021 model) .Voltas is offering adjustable ton which I guess could be useful. But warranty is 1yr normal and 10yr on compressor. Somewhere I read PCB is most important for inverter AC. Tatacliq is offering extended warranty (10services included) for 5k

Samsung is also offering adjustable ton but I don't know if their ACs are good and warranty is also same like tata 1yr + 10yr on compressor. No details about extended warranty from manufacturer.

I almost paid for the Daikin one but last year also I got a Daikin AC and was not happy with the installation charges and service quality. I was lucky to get copper pipe with product but their was no pm 2.5 filter as advertised I didn't complained to not waste my time. Also no drilling in wall (for pipes) was required still had to pay about 2.5k The quality of work was very unprofessional, no proper tools and they created a huge mess.

Technology wise which is better Daikin or voltas and how much difference it makes in real world usage?

May be it's only some online retailers only who are not shipping with the standard 3mtr/6mtr copper connecting pipe. May be they steal it or something, mainly this issue is with Amazon, Flipkart. Anything more than that costs extra that's standard 600-700 Rs per metre.

Yes odu stand costs 750-850Rs but it's installation is included in the standard installation normally. LG is charging 1400+250 for installing odu stands

Plug, drain pipe extra cost is acceptable and standard.

Yep, they charge absurdly for the extra material.

If you can arrange it directly from some nearby store, installation guys wouldn't really care. Just give them Rs. 100 for chai.

Voltas technician quoted Rs. 3-4k for the installation in my case. I got off cheap.

Ac got installed today in morning. They could not install it in the room I wanted, odu was not accessible if installed closer and only option was to install it 4-5 mtrs away. Installation guy advised against it as it would affect cooling and would cost a lot extra too. 950 per metre copper.

Got it installed in other room with default installation kit. Extra items odu stand, plug, drain pipe, white cement. Total charges 2750.
No bill/receipt was provided.

He used to work for Daikin earlier lol. Work was done nicely without any required supervision.

Cooling is good, real test will happen after few weeks weather is still not too hot.
Sound - it's really quiet there is no sound of compressor on/off.

yeah that was weird and no other paper work. He accepted Google Pay so thats the only proof of payment I have.

I also forgot about to ask about 2 free service. Invoice date should work for that.

I recall LG calling me to offer their first free service, while for the second one I got it done last month.

there is no sound of compressor on/off.

Inverter ACs just lower the power consumption as a smooth curve. No abrupt on or off state, or what we call cutoffs

So now whenever I go out I have started noticing how ACs are installed at other places because the AC guy said it cannot be installed as I wanted in my other room.

Turns out it can be, I see a lot of installations done in other buildings like that, even in the same building opposite side But that would require some special equipment or something to climb outside the window. I don't know how exactly its done.

Unfortunately at this side of building there was another AC installed with extended copper pipe so I thought may be installation guy is right and that only how it can be done.

I trusted the AC guys to do their job oh well its a lesson but how much can you be prepared for these kinda things.

Often ignored fact is the warranty offered on the PCB and specially the pcb of the outdoor unit (all inverter A/c's have that)which is most vulnerable since it's exposed to the elements. Pcb Replacement cost can come to around 15k. One should give preference to models that have warranty on the PCB (good ones give 5 year warranty). Otherwise it's advisable to buy extended warranty from reputed third party warranty Co's.
