Airtel 220BX - PortForwading

Hello All,
I'm having my Windows XP FTP server installed and running perfectly on my LAN having IP : 192.168.1.12

I also have a static IP with Airtel 220BX MODEM. I searched the internet for PortForwading configuration and done as it was mentioned.

Username / Password
Advanced Setup
NAT
Virtual Servers


and then I selected Ftp Server with external and internal port 21. Specified server address as 192.168.1.12.

Now... when I give my static IP : ftp://122.53.63.2 it asks for username and password. I even tried by specifying user account for FTP user it did not work either. Always the authentication fails.

I just wonder why its asking for username and password only if I give my static IP????


Please give me the right solution as I need it urgently.

you need to give your windows user and passwd, also if i remember properly, FTP requires additional port open besides port 21
