Airtel 3G Launched in Chennai and Coimbatore

If your mobile is not showing 3G signal then restart the phone, you should start seeing 3G signals if 3G is active on your mobile. If you are not able to access the net using 3G then you need to enable data plan for 3G. By default video calling is enabled when 3G is activated on your mobile.

@Gopi,I think he need not buy a 3G data plan. By default he will be put on 30p/20KB plan.

I had 2GB plan before activating 3G but I could not browse the net after I enabled 3G. When I called customer care they told me that I need to enable the data plan. Since I did it on the first day of the 3G launch, either there was a defect or customer care executive didn't know about pay as you go plan

If i remember correctly, you are on post paid. Probably its applicable for postpaid subscribers. IMO pay as you go will be default for prepaid subscribers.

@Ajay I didnt send any sms to 121, 3G was activated by itself... It instantly registered on the 3G network!

Additional info: Even though I am able to register on 3g network I am unable to make any calls

i have sent sms and called CC but still 3G is not activated.... Anyone got activated in Chennai & Coimbatore????

By now most of the users must have activated 3g here I guess. Let us share our experience First is mine:Lol my balance was 20Rs and l activated 3g and wanted to check the speeds and so like an idiot I ran the speedtest and I got some 4.xx mbps and half way my balance went to 0.14 lol! Please be wiser unlike me unless you want to spend a fortune on speedtests and I thank my stars that I had such low balance for the first time in 2 years lol

For past two days am trying to use 3G but failed.. called customer care for almost 10 times.. they said they'll activate in 4 hrs but no use..!! i get signal but when i connect it says =no access= anyone in chennai using 3G ?
