Airtel 4g not getting sms OTP with Vowifi

I am not getting OTP when vowifi is on.

Now problem is indoor mobile data doesn't work at all and disconnecting wifi between transaction results in failure.

Update this problem is only with OTP I guess it has something to do with Android text chat feature which uses wifi.

I can recieve normal sms.

Try with a different phone, maybe? I do not have issues receiving OTPs over Airtel VoWiFi on my iPhone, and neither does my mom on her Samsung.

disabled google chat message feature lets see if this will fix the problem.

I am facing the OTP issue also on VoWifi........ but what I have noticed is that the issue is there when I have zero signal/ bars..... as soon some signal is there, the message is received........ this is very bad because OTP is time bound and what is the use of VoWifi, if I have to run outside again for OTP....

On the other hand Jio(second sim) OTP is received immediately......... having said that there is always signal in Jio sim.

Anyone else facing similar issue?

Update: this issue is with airtel not related to google messages or anything.

OTP Sms only works with normal signal/volte.

But sometimes I can text my contact normally with vowifi hmm it's a bit weird mostly issue is with OTPs.

Another thing if there is no signal with wifi only it won't latch to vowifi for that network should be volte and then if wifi is available it will latch to vowifi.

Also sometimes for 4g I have to turn airplane mode on and off or network gets stuck to 2g/non volte.

There is an option to check VoLTE & VoWifi compatibility of the handset on Airtel.
Strangely, my handset fails on both counts but both VoLTE & VoWifi are working.
I don't know what they are up to.

My handset is Realme 6i.

It has been always there.... no resolution till date.... You should have actual mobile network to receive SMS.

May be issue is with both Airtel & Jio, but never felt on Jio as it has indoor coverage.
