Why is there no news at all with regards to Vi?

Company is short in cash. They're primarily focusing on business and SME side. I hope they'll also come up with some news about 5G launch etc. I talked to my area Vi network engineer in the beginning of 2022. He said it'll take roughly 6-8 months for 5G deployment in majority of the areas after spectrum allocation. I still have his number. I might ask him about the status.

Just received a bulk email from Gopal Vittal the CEO of Airtel . The email says:

We expect to launch our 5G services within a month. By December, we should have coverage in the key metros. After that we will expand rapidly to cover the entire country. We expect to cover all of urban India by the end of 2023. If you want to know the availability of 5G in your town, you will be able to check it on the Airtel Thanks App and see whether your phone and city is 5G ready. This feature will be available on our app with the 5G launch.

PS - No SIM replacement required.

Previous sim before 4g were 16k , 32k or 64k(postpaid) while all 4g sim are 128k that is enough capacity to load 5G profile imo.

Mittal did not reveal the complete list of the cities that will get the first phase of the Airtel 5G rollout in India.

The list was probably handed over to Mudi zee in a sealed envelope. He will probably launch in each city by visiting them.
