Airtel 5G Plus

my mother iPhone has been getting a speed of 300 + always on speedtest, but my samsung s23+ is just getting 100 mbps is airtel specifically doing something to my sim?
both phone have esim, at same location, tests done next to each other.

edit
it seems my phone is connected to 4g+ these speeds I used to get when there was no 5g, its just pathetic.

If someone have monthly data consumption under 300GB, Airtel is pretty good. It lets you access most of the sites and have good routing (Unlike Jio, it blocks Github urls and other legit websites. Tons of speed capping). I am using Airtel 5G as my main connection for work purpose and light weight streaming. And Jio 5G as secondary for heavy downloads. Would've been great if Airtel had FUP limit around 1TB.

On samsung devices it is very dicey to predict if Airtel is actually using 5G or not, even in phone information it'll show NSA Connected status but exhaust your data.

What i've done is recharge my airtel with 455 plan and use it for routine calls, and use my other jio sim with 395 plan and from network mode set it to "NR Only"

this way i get 84 days validity, actual unlimited 5g and both sims working at 850 for 84 days.

ps: this worked for me because in mumbai jio's 5G works great (Even in local train it is always 100mbps+)

due to airtel's patch 5g coverage, it shows as 5g but is connected to 4g band. This happens with iPhone as well. phone software thinks that due to different cells connected it is 5g but in reality it is 4g. clearly airtel's fault to provide patchy coverage.

jio on other hand if conncted to 5g remains connected no matter how much low signal it is. even on 1 bar it gives 300-400 mbps speed and if full bars then more than 900 mbps.

@RKhan21 Correct see my phone it shows connected to 5G in notification bar but in GNET APP it shows 4G .
Airtel really needs to fix this. 🤦‍♂️ 🤦‍♂️
