I think Airtel should just remove unlimited branding or specifically mention 300Gb FUP per month. Also I doubt they have in practice restricted hotspot access as its not something you can easily achieve. 10Gb/day is enough for average user and its miles better than getting truly unlimited data but with network that chokes badly in crowded locations. Just being honest and upfront would be better.

Ideally yes. Its no bother for me really since I'm not running entire households on hostpot data anyways and I read T&C of every plan I'm subscribed to so I'm aware what I am getting :)

Already testing Jio 5G since last few weeks. Still too early to say if it works for me but if it does, i am porting out and airtel is not getting my money henceforth.
Honestly, this kind of hate is well deserved.
They can invest all the money in marketing but their support would remain terrible. Also these kind of shady tactics makes me wanna hate Airtel even more. If it was not for Jio, these guys would have kept looting consumers.

I get the Airtel criticism, but at least their support exists tbvh. Try reaching an actual human at Jio and good luck. They've made it nearly impossible kinda.

I've had an easier time getting help from China Mobile customer support, despite not speaking a word of Chinese, than I have with Jio.

On Jio to get a human I read this trick of pressing 9 then 1 and vice versa most times it works 😂
