Yesterday Apple rolled out iOS 18.5 Beta 3 and in that update ,there was one particular carrier update for India that is :

Airtel is now rolling out an option to enable 5G Standalone option in iPhone Data settings

Now the Big Hi light for me was that Airtel 5G SA thing
could it mean Airtel is planning a 5G SA rollout sooner than we expected? That too before 5G SA for Airfiber?

I am also on 18.5 Beta 3. But 5G Standalone is greyed out for me with a message: Your sim doesn’t support 5G Standalone.

Why are you so excited for this lol
its not like the service quality will improve, infact they will raise prices claiming that they are gonna give superior network experience and other BS

So I'm not supposed to not talk about a specific carrier's update?

Isn't this forum, a place to talk on such topics?
If you don't intend to see such content
you can just ignore yk

I just hope Airtel does it the right way, not like Jio. It would be interesting to see the implementation of VoNR and how they optimise their network to reduce call drops. Honestly I couldn't care less if it's SA or NSA, I just want decent speeds at all times without my calls getting dropped :)
