@chuski this was in Andheri btw

And i think I’m getting SA maybe because its a New postpaid number which i just bought a day ago

5G Standalone (SA) is deployed in my area, but it seems only postpaid users (and some specific prepaid users) can actually use it for data.

How to test if 5G SA is present in your area:
Go to your phone’s Mobile Network settings.
  1. Set the network mode to NR Only (5G only), in * # * # 4636 # * # * This will make the phone ignore 4G/NSA networks.
  2. Turn Airplane Mode ON, wait 5–10 seconds, then turn it OFF.
  • If your phone connects to Airtel 5G (3700/3500 band) SA, it means SA is deployed in your area. (You can check the same via Net Monster App)
  • However, on prepaid SIMs (like mine), it often shows “Emergency calls only” no mobile data or internet works.
This clearly proves the SA network is live and the phone can attach to it, but the account/SIM is not yet authorized for full SA service.

Note: After testing, you can revert the setting by going back to Mobile Networks and switching the network mode to 4G/5G (Auto) or 5G/4G/3G/2G (Auto).

@sparkradar My area does have 5G SA, you can see the screenshot, but unfortunately, there's nothing being shown in the NetMonster app. I have a postpaid SIM since years now (family plan). Also, that 4636 code doesn't work in OOS.
