Penetration has nothing to do with Airtel using a 4G backbone, and the 4G experience has improved due to others using the 5G spectrum instead, offloading traffic.
The only reason Airtel went with NSA is due to low cost (as they only need radio antennas) and deployment is quicker on a large scale.

So in Hyderabad, i am getting 5g NSA+SA from last few months and experience is not that good.

When it switches to SA: i get 10-12 ms ping with download speed of 125-150 mbps and upload of 80-100 mbps

When it switches to NSA: i get 30-35 ms ping with download speed of 350-500 Mbps and upload of 50-60 mbps.

Most of the times it remain on NSA and 5g tower is just less than 50 meters away

i seem to be only getting 5g NSA in mumbai on my s21 ultra. id much rather take some connectivity on the aqua line in mumbai tbf
