Airtel Blocking VoIP Services?

Sip protocol is not being blocked..they are just blocking sip servers of some VoIP companies..and its an intentional block, not an unresolved problem

I meant that Sip server block & not the protocol.


Cant understand why only Airtel is doing this.
Bcoz if it is a TRAI order than all ISP's should comply.

I have an airtel bb connection in Chennai. I have a Linksys pap2 adapter and had voxalot set on it with IPKall number forwarding to my voxalot id. Until few days back things worked perfectly. Now when someone dials me, the phone rings but i cannot hear a thing when i answer the call. However they can hear me. I've tried changing several settings but can't get two way audio. Is this an airtel issue? They have blocked many other voip services like gizmo etc but voxalot worked well. Now it's just one way audio. Pls help

HiI have airtel broadband at my place in hyd. I was using iconnecthere voip services until a month ago. But now it has stopped working. The VOIP people checked out and said the port has been blocked by the ISP. Iam using a trendnet router with that. Any help is appreciated.Thanks,Rebu.

Anybody knows better option to use Gizmo with Airtel DSL service provider? Voxalot service is not reliable. It only works occasionally.Please share your experience.Thanks,

Post ipconfig /all data
Start RUN type CMF type ipconfig /all
use openDNs 208.67.220.220. and 208.67.222.222
mention the VOIP device model/make and Service provider.
Check firewall settings.
Or do Port forwarding for the IP for the VOIP device.

Airtel is not Blocking VOIP . using Vonage.
confirm you have user manual or Cd for trendnet modem/router.

My details are: Modem: is Linksys BEFCMU10Router: LinkSys WRT54GP2VOIP device used: LinkSys PAP2VOIP service provider: GizmoI do not have any issue with my Network because I have tested Vonage Service using my network without any problem. But with Voxalot, other party can call me but my calls to other party goes to voice massage after one ring. We both use Gizmo service through Voxalot. I have already setup my PAP2 adapter as per suggested setup by Voxalot

Help Needed :

I had Linksys VOIP(Voice Gateway with router) model no SPA3102 connected to my ISP(AIRTEL Broadband connection) a year back. All of a sudden it stopped working begining this year.
I tried the following things:

reconnected the entire stuff (I dont think that matters) - It didn work.
Tried connecting the VOIP at a different place having the same airtel broad band connection. - It didn work.
Tried connecting the VOIP at a different place having BSNL broad band connection. --It worked and i could make calls to the voip instrument present in california.

Now I have no idea how to make it work, I read through this forum n went clueless as to what technicalites to look at. I am thinking of changing my broad band connection to BSNL, but again I read some where that BSNL is also blocking VOIP connectivity. So I have kept that as my last resort.

I request any one of you to help me sort out this situation.
I came down to INDIA for a vacation now and want this to be fixed ASAP, as I be going back soon.
Please let me know what are my options of making this VOIP work. :huh:

it depends on which Voice service provider u are using..Airtel has blocked quite a few..including sipgate..betamax etc u can signup with another VSP not blocked and continue using ur SPA with the same ISP..or u can shift to BSNL..AFAIK BSNL is not blocking any VSP.
