server is based in usa. adds too much lag to the connectivity. i am currently accessing the net through a singapore ip which i guess works better because airtel routes through there.

Which VPN are you using? And what are your ping times to UK servers?

i am getting horrible speeds on torrents even at night time. i guess i would be getting the annual account on HMA. monthly charges are pretty high. yearly package is heavily discounted.

i had been planning to do it for a long time now. finally ordered a paid VPN account. suck of airtel and their throttling and blocks. that's the only thing i can fix. 640 bucks per month in addition to 2400 what i already pay airtel for their internet services. freaks.
I think it's implausible but I'm just curious. Does this VPN prevent throttling due to exceeding of monthly quota or just the throttling of p2p/torrent traffic that Airtel is alleged to be doing. Just wondering.

VPN can't help you beat the fup, simply because as far as airtel is concerned, you're still transferring data. Just that they don't know what.

Yes, I know it's all data in the end. I was wondering if it helps to mask the data and help to circumvent the data limits, due to Airtel not tracking data in an efficient manner. Just in case...
