Airtel Broadband blocking torrents and file sharing services

Again not working.I dont know what is the problem with airtel broadband that geekculture.com does not work 8 times out of 10

i am tired of dealing with airtel about the block on geekculture. using a paid VPN right now. other than a slight lag, everything seems to be working great. i turn off the vpn and within 10 minute hit a website with a blocked component. this is like living in china these days.

Thankfully I have airtel only at office. Anyways want to get prepared and get to know about the VPNs as not far from now, most of the stuff would be blocked

you are getting that message on a different isp cause that isp is sub leasing airtel infrastructure. We have seen this before with gwave in goa, they offer fibre optic internet connections. we have a connection in our branch office there, i tested the connection and found the same message when i tried to access a torrent site.

Airtel has blocked - bayimg - free uncensored image hosting

getting the same msg - "This website/URL has been blocked until further notice either pursuant to Court orders or on the Directions issued by the Department of Telecommunications"

For those of you who don't know,BayImg is an image hosting site like imgur,imageshack etc...

Well they are operated by The Pirate Bay. I guess we are going to see more such stupid blocks in the future. How long before Imgur is blocked too?

BayImg doesn't accept uploads from Indian IPs anyway, or does it ?

from what i remember, i was able to upload images to bayimg but this is when they had just launched. the UI sucked so i never used it again.
