Airtel broadband down in all of South India?

Airtel broadband is down in Pondicherry. Local support tells us that there are server problems and this is the case for all of South India, including Chennai and Bangalore. Can someone from these two cities confirm?

They're saying it might be two days (!) before services are restored. (I am typing this 1045 IST, Saturday 24.11.12)

I can see the DSL connection light is on on the modem. So their authentication server (in Blore?) must have gone down.

Thankfully I have a backup connection via BSNL...

Works fine in Chennai, touch wood. If my connection goes down for 2 days, I'd be pissed enough to apply for disconnection as I got plenty of gigs to consume before the current billing cycle ends on 25th.

And, we're back up in Pondy too. More like two hours down, rather than two days!

I was misinformed by the local Airtel office.

Perhaps mods can delete this thread.

It was down for some time in the morning. Even the complaint numbers were down. But at around 11:45 connection was restored

Is anyone having speed issues with Airtel since this afternoon, specifically in Chennai?EDIT: Seems to be fine now.
