And from what I heard, upload speeds are restricted at 1mbps.

Well, at least it's not 80 Kbps (like Idea 3G) or 128 Kbps (as airtel 4G LTE) or 256 Kbps (like airtel broadband, Pune).

512kbps I believe is also offered on the top end FUP plans on Airtel Broadband.
