Tariff plan has been changed, but I'm getting only 5 Mbps as the geniuses at airtel forgot to change the line profile.

Upload speed sucks.
[emoji36] I am so jealous of you pune people right now.

the speed you will get depends on two things. one, the downstream rate set on your line. two, the speed profile set on the radius server for your account.

for example, i used to get 4mbps only even though my downstream rate was set to 8mbps as my speed profile is set to 4mbps on my account.

What do we need to do get it fixed
Spend 30-45 mins on the phone with a 198 idiot on the other end. You will end up clearing your browsing history, browser cache, cookies, prefetch data, recent files, temporary files and recycle bin during the procedure. Finally the idiot on the other end will realize that there's nothing wrong with your PC and will then hesitantly register a complaint. You will then receive a call from their backend team and your issue will be resolved within 5-10 mins as they change the line profile.

I specifically told the guy right away that there's nothing wrong with my PC and it's an issue on airtel's side. I even told him the solution - just change the damn line profile and my issue will be resolved. But no, I think these geniuses are sitting there just to waste our time.

This is getting ridiculous now.Speed is fluctuating from 4mbps to 14MBPS.Hasnt hit 16Mbps yet.Airtel on twitter saying they will resolve the issue and someone did call me to ask what was my problem.

A CC lady on phone when i called 121 had the guts to tell me that i am getting more than 80% of promised speed and that is good.:russianroulette:

Connect directly to airtel presence. Other cc people are plain stupid.

There is problem guys.Airtel is saying that the server room is around 900mts from my building so i may not get 16mbps but will get around 13-14 mbps. What can be done?

Downgrade to 8mbps. With your line, they should not have commissioned 16mbit in the first place.

And 900m from DSLAM is not a very large distance so to speak. I doubt that distance is the cause of your poor connection.
