Airtel Broadband Help urgent: Flactuating speeds

hi I Am on airtel 512 KB ul.my download speed keeps fluctuating one minute they are 65KB/sec other min 55 kB/sec nd this is normal file download. I have tried it on different websites but it keeps fluctuating. Is this normal ??I was on 256 plan before nd I use to get constant speeds on that without fluctuation.

well yeah happens at my place too... 55 is around the minimum speed you should get on the 512kbps plan on airtel.

Please try tcp/ip optimizer from speedguide.net
As speed is increased now, some tweaks may help.
In the program keep the slider just above 512 Kbps.
Also for a stable connection Mod mode GDMT may be tried.
Even Download managers d/l at varying speeds, and depending on servers
the speed can vary.
With all applications disabled check your speed at
Airtel

I was on 256 plan before nd I use to get constant speeds on that without fluctuation.

For 512kbps connection you should get 64KB/s as downloaging speed..............
80% of it is 51.2KB/s.........
and the download speed fluctuates..........

It depends on lot of factors including where you are downloading the file from. From RS premium, I get 77 KBps constant on my 512 Kbps plan.

Nope. None of those so-called 'tricks' work. As I said, it depends on lot of factors. My apartment is located 500mt away from the DSLAM. Maybe that could be one of the reason why I'm getting such good performance!
