@testest123Yes absolutely am willing to shift to airtel impatience scheme. But before that I want to get the facts right. I need some screenshots of download speeds for a well seeded torrent file, link-removed and a typical download taken over by IDM. These are better testimony than speedtest.net. So after I have a look at these from ppl who have applied and started using these schemes, then I'll go ahead.:imwink:

Why are you guys doing so many speed tests? Be careful, you may just reach your FUP limits doing speed tests!! :PI know people who could probably benefit (only in the short term) from these packages considering their light usage, but in principle as I am totally against the FUP, I don't find it compelling to get these plans to their attention.

FUP is an inevitable part of an Indian Broadband user. So we've got to put up with it and take it with a pinch of salt. @othersany screenshots of d/l speeds as indicated by utorrent or some other download manager like IDM? Need some better clarity on this than what is indicated in speedtest.net..so pls help me guys with utorrent and iDM screenshots..

I'm from Delhi and I can also confirm something's not quite right with the Impatience 4Mpbs plans advertised by Airtel. I've been an Airtel subscriber for >3 yrs now and have been using 512K unlimited plan for a while...without any connectivity/speed issues. I decided to go for 1099/4Mbps plan last week and was promised that it'll be migrated within 5 days. Got a verification call the next day from a lady who sounded quite 'impatient'...she promised that the plan would be migrated within 48hrs. It's been 10 days now, and have called up Airtel 3 more times...each time I was promised that it'll be done within 24hrs. The worst part is that noone at Airtel customer care has any idea why the plan hasn't been migrated!Sad to say that Airtel seems to have acted quite desperately and unproffessionaly with its recent campaigns. They are advertising these Impatience 4M plans as 'unlimited' plans even though they have pretty restrictive data caps. From what I read in the forums, there are many users for whom they cannot provide these advertised plans even in the cities where these plans 've been launced. Another example of desperation from Airtel - There was a news report that Airtel toowould migrate all its plans to higher speeds (just like MTNL), but if you call up Customer care they won't give you any confirmation about this (they won't even mention that June 2010 deadline that the news report on Airtel's own website says).

@hising bhai..I thankyou a million times for taking your time to reply for this thread. Even I sensed something was wrong with this impatience scheme. I assume you have gone through this whole thread and I also assume you know my background by now. In a nutshell, I am having home 500 bsnl right now and due to fat bills, was planning to migrate to 1099 impatience airtel. The only thing that was stopping me from giving my clear cerdict about the impatience scheme was that I was not able to give the killer proof that will nail the culprit. And atleast ur response to this thread is one step in the right direction. This is precisely the reason why I asked those who are with this scheme to give IDM and Utorrent screenshots but no one has yet come up with concrete screenshot proofs in the form of a torrent client and a download manager. If the proof is delivered, then am happy. But am afraid no solid proof is coming my way. That's why I began to call the Airtel impatience scheme a "SCAM". Although I don't have anything against airtel (I very well know their CC is second to none), this particular "impatience scheme" initiative is really a bogus initiative.

Finally, been moved over to this plan as of today, initially requested it on the 15th of last month. I opted for the 899 one as a test to see how well my line will hold at higher speeds. When I first spoke to someone in CC, I was told it will take one week. One week later I get an email with the plan details attached in an excel file stating that this is why I had called them. I then had them call me, wasn't going to waste more money and time calling them. Finally got someone from the "Migration Dept" on the 1st of this month, who put in the correct request. Was told by her it would take 72 Hrs, but I knew it would not. 2 days ago my line profile got changed to god knows what. My modem looses sync in ADSl2+ mode if it goes any higher than 9.5Mbps. Have just set it to G.DMT so it remains set to 8Mbps. Stable as ever now.

@hising: it is will take one week after speak to the right person to get it done provided they have it down in their system correctly. the CC are trash!

@srinpraveen: posted a screen shot of the connection using FDM. :)

Hi KaranThat's very nice of you to give the screenshot. Thanks for clearing the air on this topic that has been raging for quite a while. But am alarmed to know that getting set with the impatiece scheme has so much complications. Hopefully the customer care in chennai is equipped to handle my queries and properly activate this scheme..

The trouble is the CC, don't really know what they are all about. They just seem to put in your requests/queries as something completely different.I had a couple of years back called them to change to a cheaper plan, the CC entered it in the system as "cust called in for password change" How did I know? Initially, when the "My Airtel" portal was launched you could see their "notes" they put it. But they have since removed that feature. I have ZERO faith in them now a days!

hmmm.. when I listen to your thoughts am able to realise that Airtel CC is not that great after all.. That's why only those ppl who have already experienced airtel cc know the reality better and its good that you have mentioned the actual scenario at ground zero level.
