Plans are updated for Chennai. 100 Mbps is available now. I guess the engineer was right after all.
  • Rs. 999 - 100GB - 40 Mbps
  • Rs. 1099 - 130GB - 40 Mbps
  • Rs. 1299 - 175GB - 40 Mbps
  • Rs. 1499 - 225GB - 100 Mbps
  • Rs. 1999 - 350GB - 100 Mbps
No change in post FUP speeds. 512 Kbps smh. 100 Mbps to 512 Kbps is a sick joke lol.

I wonder if they are finally ready with even 40 mbps at my place.. I am paying 1099 for 90 GB @ 8 mbps...

look around for vfiber posters. i only get to know after seeing one. confirmed with an airtel guy who was fixing connection at someone's house. still 16mbps though.

in any case, get the plan changed to get more data.

lol .. 40 mbps posters have been at the gate itself for months now atleast from october... But whenever I agreed to update (after 1000 for modem) they will later call me & say they are upgrading & that I will get 16 mbps and in future will get 40. In Jan after Vardah when the connection was down for a month - I said I dont want to hear from Airtel unless you are ready to upgrade to 40 mbps from the day you do the ugrade otherwise I will cancel connection...Havent heard from them since - not that I expect a call - as mostly likely I have been marked as a do not solicit customer...

ah. i do not think the vfiber poster in my lane highlight the speed. even in my sector the speed varies. some parts have 40mbps. my lane has 16mbps.

They are replacing the UG cables with OFC, probably that's what they meant by 40 in future. It's tedious work so it may take a year or two at least to cover all areas.

Any idea how far you're from the nearest exchange? You can easily get 40 Mbps if the loop length is < 800 meters.

they are aiming for 40mbps in 2 years from now? competition is moving 1gbps. :winkytongue:

They seem to bank on the reliability factor. Many of my friends and family switched back to Airtel just for that and peace of mind.

as i get used to watching more and more content on netflix and prime video... i do not see using airtel as my primary connection ever again. hopefully their data plans would get even better in coming years. 60GB for 899+taxes today is pretty amazing considering they barely gave 15GB IIRC just a few months ago.
