Do you think they'd give a new connection in a place where these plans are still not available ?I have contacted them and they say it's possible.

Most plans are not available on the official website. You can browse them on other websites and find about new plans launched. You can then call them and ask if those plans are available. If they say yes, it means they are available.

Apparently, the person that called and upgraded my plan to "Airtel-UL-POWERDATA 3000 500GB" messed up somewhere and now I have been charged with Rs.600 for the phone calls, which were free before. This was despite the fact that she confirmed that the phone plan would remain the same.

Before I write another 'guns blazing' email chiding their high-handedness, I wonder what you guys would do to resolve this issue amicably and hopefully get the charge waived.

Would greatly appreciate any help on this. Many thanks in advance. :)

Thanks so much for the input, Manoj and Igloo. :)

I've sent them an email. Fingers crossed.. Will report back.

Sorry for not reporting back earlier. A representative from Airtel called me back and has promised to adjust the amount in the next bill. Sent me an email confirmation as well. Looks like that issue will be resolved.

Thanks for your help guys. :-)

Could the guys that have "Airtel-UL-POWERDATA 3000 500GB" plan let me know how much it totally costs every month?

I assume Rs.3000 for Internet and Rs.99 for Unlimited local and STD calls. And then 14.5% of taxes. Is that correct?

My bill will be here shortly and it would be great if you guys let me know what you are paying for that particular plan.

Many thanks for your time and response. :)

@riser Yup, I'm on the same plan with unlimited calls add on. After taxes my monthly rental is about Rs. 3550.

Thanks again for your prompt responses, Manoj and Igloo. :)

You guys are awesome.

I didn't know that, igloo. Thanks for the heads up. Fortunately, the hike is just 0.5%.

Just a heads up. I got a call from Airtel that they now have a new plan for 1000 GB for Rs.5000. While the offer was tempting, I politely declined.

If someone had told me that there would be a 1000 GB plan in India last year, I would have fainted. :-)
