Hey, I have a wireless router (Beetal 440TXI) it's an ADSL2+ modem. I use utorrent frequently and I just want to test out port-forwarding even though I get speeds around 30-32kb/s (I have a 256kb/s plan). Would anyone be kind enough to provide me with a tutorial?

The speed you get 256Kbps /8= 32KB/sec maximum possible.
when all ports are available. could be you are using dialup ("bridged" )mode.
Open 192.168.1.1/main.html Id admin password : password
In Advanced Nat check for port forwarding page..
Back up all existing settings
CLICK TAG BEETEL220BX in this forum for more threads on the PF.( should be similar )

Hate to bother you, but "192.168.1.1/main.html" doesn't work for me. I'm getting a 404 error "page not found".

1. Open Command Prompt from within Accessories.
2. Type ipconfig/all and hit enter.
3. Note the ip displayed as the Default Gateway.
4. Open the same in Internet Explorer or any other browser.
5. Look for the 'Virtual Server' tab in the left hand hand pane.
6. Once there, you'll need to enter the lan ip assigned to comp(refer to the IP Address entry in the ipconfig/all results).
7. Also you'll need to specify the 'listening port' being used by µtorrent (Open µtorrent...Options>Preferences>Connection. Enter any port between 10000-65534...make sure "Randomize port each time µtorrent starts is unchecked).
8. Now specify the same port as both start and end port in the Virtual Server settings.
9. Save and reboot.
10. To check if the port has been forwarded, in µtorrent go to Options>Speed Guide and test it out.

I am using beetel 440txi. I have logged in to "192.168.1.1". But could't find virtual server tab on the left panel. plz let me know how to configure port forwarding.

Yogi said... Beetel 440 TX advanced configuration page is http://192.168.1.1/html/index1.html

Click the \"Advanced\" link.click on the link titled \"Port Forwarding\".If you get a message asking you to specify an ip address before proceeding, do this. Click on \"LAN Clients -->Select LAN Connection should be LAN Group1 --> Under Enter IP Address, enter your own ip address.

Now on Port Forwading page select the \"user\" radio button and click on the \"New\".Under rule name you can give any name.
Under protocol select TCP,UDP.
Under \"port start\" enter the first port number you wish to open and \"port end\" specifies the ending port number. The \"port map\" should contain the same port number as what you entered in \"port start\".

Once this is done click on apply and go back to the previous page.
Now check the \"user\" radio button, you should now be able to see the newly created rule.
Select the rule, click on \"Add\" and click on \"Apply\".

Now on the top of the page click on \"Tools\", and then click on \"System Commands\"

On the page click on \"Save All\" and then click on \"Restart\". Your modem will reboot....voila...you are done...
