airtel broadband: red ping during online gaming

My net connection speed is 2mbps the problem i am facing whenever i play modernwarfare2 or cod4 on xboxlive and join the game which americans are hosting i get red ping while all my friends who are from india and have got connections ranging from 512kbps to 2mbps from different service providers get yellow ping(which is playable).I only get yellow ping when somebody from china or japan is hosting what should i do there is no problem with downloading speed is good.HELP :icry: :icry:

well ping is not really connected to your broadband speeds. it would depend upon the routing of your internet service provider. if you constantly face problems with pings, you can only change your service provider hoping to get a better route to international servers.

Is there a way i can check route to international servers another thing there is another indian who has airtel 2mbps connection and he is getting yellow ping and this red ping problem is mainly with call of duty games/infinity ward matchmaking service. PS i checked my nat it is open.

well people in different cities might be getting connected through different international routes. so that might explain his better pings. you can of course use the ping or tracert command to see your own connection connecting to an international one.
