well the problem in usa is that some areas have great connectivity options. others have crappier connectivity options. and it makes very little sense to compare selective cases from usa with india. the two markets are very different from each other. i mean people here are comparing google fiber with isps in india. google fire is infinitely better than 99% of internet offerings in the US market already. we are still taking baby steps when it comes to broadband evolution. sadly, our ISPs tend to take two steps backwards after they take one step forward.

airtel being airtel....i too have a airtel connection but under the license of skytel....just 600 pm /512 kbps....and i am planing to upgrade 1200 pm/1mbps....and why dnt u guys disconnect it and change isp! then they will know how frustated we are!

Unfortunately, I don't have a better alternative for my needs. Airtel is a necessary evil for me.

Even bigger problem is the last revision in service tax by the govt. of India. 12.36% is a huge tax. Why should the govt.tax us so much? Even a small increase in rental magnifies our pay outs for services.

Its because we all take it lying down, that companies like Airtel feel freeto pick our pockets at their whims & fancies." DO YOU PEOPLE KNOW THAT NO COMPANY CAN REVISE YOUR TARRIF WITHOUT YOUR APPROVAL"They simply cannot inform you that your tarrif has been revised, they are not administrators whocan arbitrarily pass an ordinance which affects some one's finances, they have to take your approval& if you do not agree offer you a product that fits your budget.

the best i know is that there was a ruling that required companies to inform about tariff hikes six months in advance. i am not sure if this applies to broadband service providers. i think this might be exclusively for DTH operators only.

"Marginally increased from 2099 to 2250" ? Is that what they call marginal?Also why only Airtel? Why are other ISPs not increasing their prices?
