Airtel Broadband's latest internet plans for Delhi NCR

Last night I submitted my request from within my web account at airtel.in for change of plan for my home and for my office.
At home I had already upgraded to V-Fiber modem, so without any further phone call or confirmation, I received SMS at around 11:30AM confirming that my plan has been changed, my previous plan was Airtel-UL-Rapid New 1199 60GB (4Mbps/512Kbps) COMBO Plan., now I will be paying Rs. 899 (plus tax), for the same that I was paying 1199.
For my office, since I had not already upgraded the modem, their CC girl called up and told me, to change plan I have to upgrade modem by paying 1000, I refused and asked them why, she told me that since technology has now changed and my previous plan was of 8Mbps, so to change plan I need to upgrade plan, I argued why they have capped my connection to 8Mbps while their plan clearly mentioned upto 16Mbps when changed last time and at the time of upgrade I was informed that due to feasibility and distance effective speed will be 8Mbps, so why capped at plan level. I told her clearly that if they are cheating their clients like this I would like to cancel the service.
Without any further reasoning, she apologised and said, they will upgrade the plan and will provide the new modem free of cost. My previous plan Airtel-UL-Rapid New 1399 80GB (8Mbps/512Kbps) COMBO Plan, now for 1099 I will be getting 90Gb plus free modem and higher speed.
I also got this done for my sister and my in-laws, more resources for less money and free upgrade to new modem.
All within less than 12 hours.
Important: All those who are not on V-Fiber technology, check what your plan is, if in the plan itself they have written 4 or 8 or similar Mbps, call them and fight why they are capping your connection at certain speed that is lower than their published plan.

No confusion man, I know what ADSL & VDSL is, I have already mentioned that at home I had upgraded to VDSL modem and at office they are going to do it free of charge.

1 ) users can save on monthly bill
2 ) users can save on VDSL modem (if technology is available in their area)
3 ) Check what is written in your plan name, if 4Mbps you are capped at 4Mbps, if 8 then you are capped at 8Mbps.
Why would Airtel write something like "Airtel-UL-Rapid New 1199 60GB (4Mbps/512Kbps) COMBO Plan" while at the time of purchase publicly it was mentioned 16Mbps.
Also, at the time of connection their feasibility team verbally told me that due to distance between my home and their DLC, effective speed will be 4Mbps, they never told me that the plan will have 4Mbps mentioned in it and that my connection will be capped at 4Mbps.
That was my fight with the Airtel CC girl, when she said that speed is mentioned in the plan. I asked her why "UL-Pace 1099 90GB (16Mbps/512Kbps) COMBO Plan" why not "UL-Pace 1099 90GB (40Mbps/512Kbps) COMBO Plan" and she had no answer.

Thanks for bringing this up. Time to call them tomorrow and get my data upgraded. Sneaky airtel won't ever update the plan for existing customers themselves.
