I tweeted them and got a call back from customer service team and I explained everything. They agreed to give me 16 Mbps on my current plan as it is feasible at my location. Lets see how long it shall take to switch.

Congratulations to you!!
I wait for the day when my line gets upgraded

No upgrade yet. :(
Will tweet them again tomorrow.

  • Your monthly high-speed data limit is:Plan :25.0 GB

  • icon-battery.gif

    You are left
    with:
    25.0 GB

  • icon-calender.gif

No. of days left in the current bill cycle:
    3 day(s)

  • You are left with only 25.0 GB of high-speed data limit. Once you consume that, your speed will be reduced to 512 Kbps for next 3 day(s).
The plan got reset and now I get free 25 GB for 3 days? Or is there something I am missing here? Also the Data Rate is still
10239 kbps in the router status page. Speedtest also confirms 8Mbps speeds. :(

Yup. And you can change your plan multiple times every month iirc. There might be a limit. But this is a way to get around FUP limits if you can work out a schedule that suits your plan.

The data rate has increased to
19399 / 871 kbps.
But the SNR dropped from
23.0 / 14.4 db
to
9.6 / 14.0 db.

As I know a lower SNR is bad for the connection. Will this low SNR hurt? I'll play Dota now to see how this impacts my online gaming.
