Airtel dsl net connection problem is baffeling me

HiI have very odd problem that i am facing for the last two months.i have airtel dsl 128 kbps plan what is happening is that i am not able to accessthe sites .when i click the IE or firefox the first page of the site opens verY fast however after that the next pages take ages to open the site and sometimes the net gets disconnected.i have called airtel technical support people so many times and the technican has also come so many times but nothing is working .when I ping the ip address and some website there is no problem same goes to the dns address but somehow the website doesnt open at all .i have reinstalled the os twice but nothing seems to be working.i have used third party tools to see what the probelm is but still its a mystery as to what is happening even the techie is baffled by this problem he say reinstall the OS ,then say maybe the browser is corrupted,and now he say to use another os from a different Cd.I just dont know what is happening .I have a betlle 220 bx dls modem.

Can you open OE or Yahoo Messenger ?

OPEN IE. Clear all temporary files/history cookies etc.
Same for FireFox.
Start/Run/Msconfig
Uncheck all programs at start up except Microsoft( if any).
Run your AV and Antispy programs.
If Possible start/run sfc /scannow
( Keep your XP Cd ready) May take an hour.

Now Open IE log in 192.168.1.1
check Diagnostics



If Ok try now. to surf.
Else check modem settings. ( or change the modem)

If you have a BSNL telephone use the dialup service NETONE , to check your System is working alright. Netone will work only from BSNL phone ) ( or get a sancharnet/bsnl dialup connection for say 10 /25hours ).

hiThanks for the prompt repy .i was able to locate the problem .the problem was on lan card i removed it an reinstalled it gain and now its working .
