I ported from Vi to Airtel exactly a month ago i.e. 18th April 2025 and here was my experience with it so far
Calling
calling experience has been much better than Vi for me ,Especially Airtel to Airtel Calls since they connect very quickly and is in HD quality
Airtel to Jio calls are okay but not VoLTE IMO unless i call back from my side
For calling Airtel is pretty good, I don't have any complaints with calling
Also when I was in Kochi I did see 5G sign when on call, and it didn't fall back to 4G
does Airtel support VoNR ?

Now this is where the problem starts for me
I don't get proper 5G signals inside my home, and it stays at 1 bar or so, while Jio gets 2–3 bars inside my home, and it's a lot faster than Airtel
Non Peak Hours on 5G, I get about 200-300Mbps on Airtel 5G
Peak Hours on 5G, it falls as low as 20-30Mbps on Airtel 5G
5G fluctuates a lot
it gets even worse for 4G
Non Peak Hours on 4G, I get about 10-25Mbps on Airtel 4G
Peak Hours on 4G, it falls as low as 2mbps on Airtel 4G
5G VS 4G 11:30 Am ish
using hotpot with Airtel gives me a lot of stress, I feel Airtel will block the whole 300GB 5G anytime
Special note : when at Mumbai T2 and Cochin T3 Airport, Airtel has no 5G inside the terminal building and only 4G works there
these are times when I miss VI heavily since Vi has a lot of 4G data offering as compared to Airtel
Overall experience for me
Airtel is good only for calling, 5G experience is okay / 4G experience is terrible when compared with Vi and Jio
Once the 90 days are over, Im probably gonna go back to Vi or Jio has Main sim and get Vi as main data sim
