@SmhNokiarouter is fine but I have troubles with speeds on the 2.4ghz band. Range and general performance are fine, I rarely need to reboot the router.
Settings are very locked down though, typical Airtel-like.
Got a call today but it disconnected instantly when I tried to answer. No call after that and you cannot call back it says invalid number.
How do I reach these people?
This titanium router has weird issues, randomly it will start lagging and i know this because I have connected an old router as access point for 2.4g only and connection on it more stable. Otherwise this router has decent range.
Managed to call them through app. And 21mins call was waste, no clue about anything, kept call on hold multiple times and finally support guy couldn't even register a request for technician visit. Said I will get a call back in 24hrs I am not even sure about that.
This guy was doing wfh I could hear tv sound and most likely their support portal has same stupid chat bot options and would not let you register request unless some issue is detected by backend.
Finally after wasting a lot of my time Airtel didn't changed my router. Just BS reset router internet is working. No new router, NoC team handles router BS.
I was getting irritated from trying to convince multiple people to replace the damm thing. Just getting complaint registered was a task. And I right now.
So I have few options now.
1. Apply for disconnection after few months when my advance paid bill cycle is about to complete. Get retention team to replace the router.
2. Shift this and get a new connection with the router I want.
3. Get my own router and use that in access point mode for wifi or double NAT (not sure if it will start creating problems with my camera remote viewing)
@Smh there's only way. U could change to gigabit plan and get WiFi 6 router but even this ZyXEL WiFi 6 ONT is shit has good WiFi performance but there are random ping spikes
and the main topic of this thread - I have noticed in all videos of this router model with airtel connection, in WAN settings only ipv4 is enabled ipv6 was not enabled in any video.
about my router (titanium crap) I made some changes and now connection is much better, ping spikes still happening but no lag or restart required.
1. Set manual channel for both 2.4 and 5ghz (6& 36)
2. Set wifi key renewal interval to max or 0
3. Set different SSID for 2.4 and 5
4. 2.4ghz set to use 20/40mhz to minimize overlap and increase range.
5. 5gz is set for 40 AC AN & 20/40/80 VHT
6. Turn off band steering.
7. Assign devices with lag issues to 2.4ghz only and 5ghz is for tv which seems to have good compatibility somehow. (don't even save 5ghz network on devices with lag issue so it stays on 2.4 only)
Router uptime is 6 days now without any major lag issue which was happening a lot earlier specially with my pixel mobile.
As this router doesn't allow backup config so will use this post as reference for future
