Airtel IPTV is live now in selected regions. Sadly no major cities as of now, and you will have to opt for airtel black for IPTV

I don't see the benefit of this IPTV plan , I'm already on Airtel black plan of DTH 369 channels)+broadband 200mbps plan for 1099INR with those listed OTT apps, those base speeds haven't any uptick in last 5 years I think

so if iptv replaces their dth in these plans, it seems that it should be powered by their android box or something. app based tv is just not tv.

What's the point if prices stay same?
Signal loss rarely happens, my dish works fine most of the time even during rains, and for small duration people can stay on the internet.

Airtel is saving time & cost here with IPTV, it would take 2 min to setup IPTV whereas in case of DTH dish installation and wiring is there plus some societies doesn't allow antenna to be installed.
Another thing is that you will have to stick to airtel fiber and it will count data usage against your (3.3 TB or 1 TB) quota .

Once again. IPTV doesn't use your internet data. It's a streaming service if it does.

IPTV doesn't use your internet data.

IPTV shouldn't use Internet data that was original concept, but they have enhanced it over the years to serve streams using CDN's so that they can offer catchup's and rewind live stream. Not everyone uses CDN's like in case of Excitel, BSNL they are offering IPTV using VLANs and that is why they don't count data against IPTV. But in case of airtel, they are using google CDN's to deliver those IPTV streams as of now.

Airtel's iptv available with iptv box, they will provide free box with black plans, we can select pay channels worth of Rs.350/- as complementary.
