So apparently airtel pushed out an update severely crippling this ONT.
None of the WAN setting options are enabled anymore so my OP is invalid now.

Archer c7 on openwrt has several issues (specially their driver blobs are not upto the mark to closed source ones in official firmware). Comparing openwrt version with ISP provided locked router is apples to oranges. Archer C7 is a beast if used in dumb AP mode. The range is enormous if tweaked properly.

@bbforumstalker is port at the bottom of the router GPON port? And can we replace this router with any other router like Google wifi PRO or any other that you can suggest?

@dreamsparkx No you cannot. Unless your replacement XPON router supports Forging the Serial number of the Router given to you by airtel.
Not all support this.
