Anyone remember what the first generation of FUP limits were like on Airtel Broadband plans? 150GB?
That's what your post says. I wouldn't know, I'm an 80GB pleb. :p
Tried contacting them for a higher data cap 2Meg plan yesterday and they sent me a spreadsheet with 80GB 4Mbps and 8Mbps plans. :D

Bleh. They are obviously going to rule in favor of Telcos.
There's not much we can do at this point.
... which makes me wonder, why aren't E-tailers and other Indian startups (Zoho?) raising their voices in unison against this?

Zoho is Indian? :D I thought it was Russian.

man. it has been more than five years. :D

Yup. Airtel is one company that could single handedly stop companies like Netflix to launch their operations in India. Today it is voip which is not even a data intensive activity... Tomorrow it would be streaming service. Though they have very little to worry on that front considering the data capacity of their plans.

I guess the only individual that can fix the situation is Mukesh Ambani. He has already gotten policies changed for his Jio venture to allow calls over LTE I think.

the good thing with mukesh is that he can get the government to make regulations to suit him. airtel does not have that advantage.

and since jio would be the underdog in the broadband market, things could work out well for the consumer at least in the early years.

Still I don't believe the MF TRAI... They will never be on customer's side, especially as AirHELL has filled their pot belly with Vitamin M now... Shemeless TRAI will get all blames instead of AirHELL now, customers' suffering will never stop...

I did mail the guy running netneutrality.in website to switch focus to sending messages to Modi Ji and his minions. The focus should have been on the government from day one.
