I just remembered I had done airtel KYC too. But never received SMS about bank account being opened.

Do they send SMS or silently open the account and link aadhar number with that account?

it's not happening with everyone so hard to say. i guess some outlets are doing it on their own to make extra commission or something.

Ok. I did it via official airtel relationship store. So may be they wudnt do that.

But in any case, is there anyway to know if there is airtel bank account opened?

Its not showing on my airtel myaccount page.

I am genuinely worried about linking my bank a/c to aadhaar , what if through aadhaar pay some one accesses my money

let me clarify this issue..as I spend time in my friends mobile shop and also myself do adhar link of various operator including airtel , I know this thing.

opening airtel payment banks the retailer gets 5rs as commission.
by default this option is disabled there while doing ekyc I.e adhar link but some retailers and shops due to that commission they enable it during ekyc and proceed for the same amlnd customers wouldn't find any clue that the retailer is doing it as its just an option which is disabled by default and can be enabled while doing ekyc..

same with jio for jiomoney..

it depends upon retailers that they are enabling airtel money option or not..like us we never do this things other than one we did by misake when it was first launched..
